Understanding ASAM Level 3.1 Residential Services at True Recovery RVA

Recovery often requires more than motivation alone. In early recovery, having structure, accountability, and consistent support can make the difference between short-term progress and long-term stability. That’s where ASAM Level 3.1 Residential Services come in.

ASAM Level 3.1, also known as Clinically Managed Low-Intensity Residential Services, is designed for individuals who need a supportive, recovery-focused living environment while continuing to build the skills necessary for independent living. True Recovery RVA provides this level of care with an emphasis on stability, peer support, and practical recovery tools.

A Structured, Supportive Recovery Environment

True Recovery RVA’s residential services offer a stable living environment that supports sobriety and personal growth. Residents live in recovery-focused housing that is drug- and alcohol-free, encouraging accountability and connection with others who are committed to recovery. This structure helps reduce exposure to triggers while reinforcing healthy routines and daily responsibilities.

24/7 On-Site Peer Support

Support is available around the clock. Certified Peer Recovery Specialists are on site 24/7 to provide guidance, supervision, and encouragement. Having peers with lived experience available at all times creates a sense of safety and understanding, especially during challenging moments in early recovery.

Clinically Directed Recovery Services

ASAM 3.1 care at True Recovery RVA includes professionally directed clinical services focused on stabilization and skill development. Participants work on relapse prevention, emotional regulation, and coping strategies while building healthier social connections that support recovery. The goal is not only to maintain sobriety, but to strengthen the tools needed to sustain it.

Case Management and Advocacy

Recovery doesn’t happen in isolation. Comprehensive case management is a key part of the program, helping participants navigate external responsibilities and systems that can impact recovery. This includes coordination with outpatient providers, connection to community resources, and court advocacy when needed. These services are designed to support the whole person, not just treatment goals.

Medication-Assisted Treatment Friendly

True Recovery RVA supports individuals who utilize Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) as part of their recovery plan. Staff assist with medication storage, scheduling, and accountability to ensure medications are used safely and as prescribed. This approach reflects a commitment to evidence-based care and individualized recovery pathways.

Supporting the Transition to Independence

ASAM Level 3.1 Residential Services are often a bridge between intensive treatment and independent living. By combining structure, peer support, clinical guidance, and practical life skills, True Recovery RVA helps individuals build a strong foundation for the next stage of recovery.
