Recovery, Connection, and Community: True Recovery RVA at the NA Campout

There's something special about stepping away from the routine, breathing in fresh air, and spending time with people who truly understand your journey. That's exactly what happened last weekend when some of our True Recovery RVA participants attended the NA Campout at Christopher Run Campground at Lake Anna in Mineral, VA.

A Weekend Worth Remembering

The campout, hosted by the New Dominion Area NA Campout Committee, brought together people in recovery for a weekend full of connection, laughter, and fellowship. From speaker meetings to shared meals around the campfire, every moment was a reminder of just how powerful community can be in the recovery journey.

Our participants showed up, engaged, and made memories that will carry them forward. Watching them thrive outside of a clinical setting and simply enjoy life is one of the most rewarding things we get to witness as an organization.

Why Community Matters in Recovery

Recovery is about so much more than getting sober. It's about rebuilding relationships, finding your people, and discovering a life that feels worth living. Events like this campout are a perfect example of the kind of peer connection and community support that can make a real difference.

At True Recovery RVA, we believe that healing happens in community. Whether it's through our Partial Hospitalization Program, Residential Services, peer support, or simply showing up for events like this one, we are committed to walking alongside our participants every step of the way.
